Moody 30

The Moody 30 offers good performance and excellent accommodation for up to six, and makes an economical small family cruiser. Introduced in 1975, and remaining in production for four years, with about 150 built, the Moody 30 has a distinctive hull style with very flared bows. The saloon has a dinette converting to a a double berth, and a single settee berth opposite. Add in a quarterberth under the slide-down chart table, and a vee-double in the forecabin, and you have six berths in 30 feet!

Sails and Rig: Rigged as sloop. Mainsail - Original roller boom reefing. Owen Sails 2005 VGC. Headsail - furling genoa Hyde 2008 VGC. Also foresail in ok condition.

Propulsion: Volvo MD11C 23hp marine diesel inboard. 2 cylinder  engine from 1977 cruises at 6kn with a maximum of 7kn. Fixed prop.

Electrics/Electronics: 2 x 12v batteries with isolator switch. Shorepower. Sterling Smart Regulator. Interior and exterior lighting. Plastimo compass (2004). VHF. NASA echosounder. Standard Horizon 180i Chartplotter. Raymarine autopilot (2004). NASA log. Clock/barometer (2004)

Galley: New Plastimo cooker with 2 burners, oven and grill. Icebox. Sink. Utensils. Fresh water tank 100 litre. Electric water pump. Water heating from gas boiler.

Other: Iron fin keel. New plastic 65 litre fuel tank. Manual anchor windlass. Vac heads with handbasin and shower. 6' headroom. Manual and electric bilge pumps. Engine starts 1st time and burns no oil. Boat is well maintained and constantly upgraded. The current owner has had the boat since 2003. New engine mounts. New engine controls. New domestic water pump. New bilge pump. Windows overhauled. Steering overhauled. New sprayhood and dodgers 2006.
