Boat Management

If you have a boat moored in the Argyll area and don't get the chance to use on a weekly or even fortnightly basis, then this is the service for you. Weekly checks on your boat throughout the season, or indeed the winter can be as thorough or as brief as you like, according to your budget and your own circumstances. This service is tailored to your specific needs. Below are some of the options available to the customer, although any work can be carried out upon request through our network of local contractors.

If you have your boat moored out with Argyll, maybe it's time to consider relocating. We can put together a package helping you to find boat transportation, winter storage, summer mooring and everything else involved in moving the boat right down to the finest detail. Once your boat is here we can provide a management package to suit your requirements, and there's even the option of chartering to help write off the costs of boat ownership.

Low cost airlines are making the UK smaller by the day. Set off from anywhere in Britain on a Friday lunchtime and you can be sailing your boat around the west coast of Scotland that very evening.

The benefits of using such a service are numerous:

  • We will build up a stock relative to your boat so that broken or worn parts can be replaced immediately.
  • Regular maintenance such as our boat babysitting service will maintain the value of your boat, and so to some extent this service pays for itself.
  • When you arrive at your boat the hatches will be open (depending on the weather of course!), the engine will be running, the boat will be provisioned, and someone will be on-hand to help you with your luggage.
  • You no longer have to arrange for engineers, riggers or and other tradesmen to carry out work on your boat, as this will be done for you and the work inspected upon completion.
  • You have one phone number to remember, in use 8am until 9pm, 7 days per week. You can call for updates on the condition of your boat after adverse weather etc.

The full package can also include arrangement of your mooring for the summer and your storage (indoor or outdoor) for the winter.

Individual Jobs

The business also carries out individual jobs on boats, and a quote can be made up upon request. Alternatively, you can pay by the hour for assistance with jobs you wish to carry out yourself on your boat. This service is proving to be very popular due to the low hourly rate charged.

No matter what you need done on your boat, you need look no further than here. Jobs that are out with the capabilities of Forbes Boat Care are subcontracted out to one of out comprehensive range of local contractors in the trade.
