Catalina C320

Figment II is a Catalina 320, purchased new in October 1994 and launched in March 1995,  and was exhibited at the Southampton Boat Show in that year.  She is a 32 foot Bermudan sloop with excellent accommodation organised as three cabins.  She is the shallow draft version with a lead/antimony wing keel

She competed in the 1997 and 1999 Fastnet races, coming 209th out of 337 in 1997 and 227th out of 376 in 1999. She has been sailed from Dover to Norway on four occasions. Currently she is located at Loch Creran, NW Scotland about 12 miles from Oban.

Cabin layout

Forward cabin with vee berth arrangement with infill cushion. The saloon has a double berth to starboard using a drop down table arrangement and a single berth to port.  The aft cabin has a large double berth with a hanging cupboard and drawer unit.

Domestic Inventory

All upholstery replaced in 2005. Saloon and stern cabin cushions renewed in 2009 with memory foam. Brass clock and barometer. Radio cassette player with internal and external speakers. Eberspacher diesel heater – 2 outlets.

Galley

Seaward 2 burner stove with oven/grill. Double stainless steel sinks. Large fridge/freezer. Good size cool box and three top level cupboards

Mechanical

Edson steering wheel pedestal. Perkins 29hp 3 cylinder engine with electric fuel pump.  The engine was rebuilt in late 2008 and has since logged 150 hours (approx). Volvo shaft seal. Three bladed propeller. Midships spring cleats. Cutlass bearing replaced in 2009. Spurs rope cutter

Deck equipment

Stainless steel bow roller. Lewmar Delta anchor (16Kg). 60 metres chain plus 20 metres warp. Maxwell electric anchor windlass – motor replaced 2004. Boarding ladder. Centre cleats. 2 spare gas bottle brackets on the transom. Outboard engine bracket on pushpit

Rig & Sails

Standard rigging replaced in 2004. Schaeffer headsail furling gear. Main sail stack pack by Owen Sails (new 2006). Fully battened main sail by Jeckels  (new 2008). 135% Genoa by UK Sails. Spare Genoa/Mainsail may be available. Spinnaker by Ullman Sails,  pole and associated gear

Electrical

Full navigation lights. Tricolour mast head light. Deck light. Steaming lights. Halogen internal cabin lights replaced 2003. 240V shore power. 240V immersion heater. Sterling battery charger (30A). Sterling digital alternator controller. Gas/smoke alarms. 2 x 120 amp batteries. 12V cigarette lighter socket. Hot and cold pressurised water to the sink and the showers in heads and transom
